Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski ( ZBIG-niev brə-ZHIN-skee; Polish: Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzeziński [ˈzbʲiɡɲɛf kaˈʑimʲɛʂ bʐɛˈʑiĩ̯skʲi]; March 28, 1928 – May 26, 2017) was a Polish American political scientist, geostrategist, and statesman. He served as the United States National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981.
Brzezinski died at a hospital in Falls Church, Virginia on May 26, 2017 from congestive heart failure at the age of 89.[2]
