Zack Ostapchuk (born May 29, 2003) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Ottawa Senators.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Ostapchuk played five seasons with the Vancouver Giants and one season with the Winnipeg Ice of the Western Hockey League (WHL). On March 8, 2022, the Giants named Ostapchuk as their new captain.[1]

He was drafted 39th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2021 NHL entry draft.[2] On September 29, 2021, Ostapchuk signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Senators.[3] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Belleville Senators.

On March 12, 2024, Ottawa called him up and Ostapchuk made his NHL debut in a 2–1 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.[4] On October 29, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Noah Gregor goal in a 2–1 overtime win against the St. Louis Blues.[5] On January 28, Ostapchuk scored his first NHL goal against Jacob Markström in a 2–1 win against the New Jersey Devils.[6]

On March 7, 2025, the Senators traded Ostapchuk along with Noah Gregor and a 2025 second-round draft pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Tristen Robins, Fabian Zetterlund, and a 2025 fourth-round draft pick.[7]
