Yaakov Edri

Ya'akov Edri (Hebrew: יעקב אדרי; also spelt Edery or Edrey; 25 November 1950 – 18 March 2026) was a Moroccan-born Israeli politician. He was the mayor of Or Akiva from 1989 until 2003 and again from 2013 until 2023. He was a member of the Knesset for Likud and Kadima between 2003 to 2013.

Edri was the Minister of Immigrant Absorption, Minister of Negev and Galilee Development, Minister of Health and a Minister without Portfolio from 2006 until 2009. Edri was born in Morocco.

Edri died on 18 March 2026 in Or Akiva, Israel from a stroke at the age of 75.[1]
