Warren Truss (born 8 October 1948, Kingaroy, Queensland) is an Australian politician.[1] He was elected as the member for Wide Bay in the Australian Parliament in 1990.[2] He became the leader of the National Party in 2007.[2] In the Howard government, Truss was Minister for Customs and Consumer Affairs and Minister for Community Services.[2] In July 1999 Truss became of Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.[2] In 2005 he became Minister for Transport and Regional Services. In September 2006 he became Minister for Trade.[2]
