Varija Bajaj is an Indian fashion designer from Delhi.[1][2] She is known for her women's workwear and and modern Indian clothing.[3][4][5]

Life

Bajaj studied Philosophy at Miranda House, University of Delhi, Advertising and Marketing at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.[6][7] In 2016, her collection had models wearing a traditional Indian head covering called a turban (pagdi). In 2017, she presented her “Vrindavan” collection. It was created to challenge social stigma against widows in India.[8][9]

Philanthropy

Bajaj is the chairperson of Varija Life, a non-governmental organization (NGO). The group works to support the rights of people with disabilities. It organizes the National Ability Summit, a conference that promotes disability inclusion.[10][11] Varija Life organized National Ability Summit to highlight opportunities for disability inclusion in diverse fields. Varija Life has also started inviting applications for research on adaptive clothing. Over 27 prominent colleges across India are part of the research.[12][13][14]
