Uuvudhiya Constituency is the biggest constituency in the Oshana Region of Namibia. It has 4,357 people living there,[1] its capital is the settlement of Uuvudhiya. The constituency had 2,869 registered voters in 2004.[2] Lake Oponona, the largest lake in the Cuvelai Basin, is located in Uuvudhiya Constituency and is a local attraction. [3]
In the 2010 regional elections, SWAPO candidate Seblon Paulus won the constituency with 1,621 votes, followed by Gabriel Jeremia of the Rally for Democracy and Progress who received 19 votes.[4] In the 2015 local and regional elections the SWAPO candidate won became councillor after no opposition party nominated a candidate.[5] For the 2020 regional election no opposition candidate participated,[6] and Timoteus Shoopa a Shivute, the SWAPO candidate won and was elected.[7]
