What is Total Backlog Annihilation? It is a project intended for all editors to participate in to help alleviate the full backlog of article issues. We pick one category to work on. We post the category, how many pages are in it, a progress meter, how to correct it, and, if applicable, any scripts that may assist or even fully correct our issues. Each one will also have a general discussion area for all discussions for the category. Thank you to Darkfrog24 for naming the project. Project creation and idea by PotsdamLamb. Closed phases
- Phase I – cleared Special:UnconnectedPages (2–5 April 2024)
- Phase II – cleared Category:Articles with broken file links (19 April–11 May 2024)
- Phase III – cleared Category:Underpopulated categories (11 May 2024–5 July 2025)
- Phase IV – cleared Category:Pages with broken reference names (10 July–27 September 2025)
- Phase V – cleared Category:Dead-end pages (5–26 October 2025)
Keeping backlogs "annihilated"
All backlogs in the "Closed phases" section should also be watched to ensure they don't build up again too much. My idea is that if the category is frequently monitored, it is unlikely to get to a huge backlog again.
