Urea nitrate
Urea nitrate is an chemical compound having the chemical formula CH₅N₃O₄.[1] It is an ionic organic nitrate salt consisting of the protonated urea cation and nitrate anion, and has the appearance of a white crystalline solid.
Urea nitrate is made by combining urea (a common ingredient in organic fertilizers) and nitric acid. The reaction is considered an "exothermic reaction".
The compound is mostly known for its explosive properties, having a destructive power similar to the more well-known ammonium nitrate.
