The University of Hamburg (German: Universität Hamburg, also called UHH) is a public research university in Hamburg, Germany.

It was made on March 28, 1919 by mixing the previous General Lecture System (Allgemeines Vorlesungswesen), the Hamburg Colonial Institute (Hamburgisches Kolonialinstitut), and the Academic College (Akademisches Gymnasium). The main campus is found in the central district of Rotherbaum, with cooperative institutes and research centers distributed around the city-state.
