Tsuyoshi Watanabe (渡辺剛, Watanabe Tsuyoshi, born 5 February 1997) is a Japanese football player who plays as a defender for Belgian First Division A club Gent.^[1]

Biography

Watanabe was born in Saitama Prefecture on February 5, 1997. After graduating from Chuo University, he joined J1 League club FC Tokyo in 2019. He played many matches as center back from first season.

In December 2019, Watanabe was selected the Japan national team for 2019 E-1 Football Championship. At this tournament, he debuted against Hong Kong on December 14.
