Tom Willander (born 9 February 2005) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Outside of the NHL, Willander played for the Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Willander played two regular season games with the Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and two years with the Boston University Terriers of Hockey East. Willander had a successful time with his teams. He was named to back-to-back All-Hockey East Second Teams in 2024 and 2025.[1][2]

He was drafted 11th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023 NHL entry draft.[3] On 23 October 2020, Willander signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Canucks.[4] They sent him down to play for their AHL-affiliate Abbotsford Canucks. On 28 October 2025, Vancouver called him up and Willander made his NHL debut in a 2–0 loss against the New York Rangers.[5] On 1 November 2022, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Brock Boeser goal in a 5–4 overtime win against the Nashville Predators.[6] On 14 October 2023, Willander scored his first NHL goal against Jesper Wallstedt in a 4–2 win against the Minnesota Wild.[7]
