ThruDark is a British technical clothing company founded in 2016 by former Special Boat Service (SBS) operators Anthony Stazicker and Louis Tinsley.[1] The company is based in Poole, Dorset, England, and produces outdoor and technical apparel including jackets, base layers, activewear, and accessories.[2][3]

History

ThruDark was founded in 2016 by Anthony Stazicker and Louis Tinsley, both former members of the United Kingdom Special Forces.[1] According to interviews with the founders, the idea for the company was developed while they were attending a parachute training course in the United States.[4]

The company publicly launched its first collection in 2018.[5] British designer Jeff Griffin assisted the founders during the early development of the brand and introduced them to Italian manufacturing partners.[1]

In 2024 and 2025, ThruDark appeared in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of growing private companies in the United Kingdom.[6]

In January 2026, the company secured a £4 million trade loan from Barclays UK Corporate Bank to support retail expansion.[7]

Products

ThruDark produces technical clothing and outdoor equipment including waterproof jackets, insulated layers, fleeces, trousers, activewear, and accessories.[2]

The company uses materials including Polartec, Pertex, Schoeller fabrics, merino wool, and Dyneema in some products.[8]

In 2022, the company’s Centurion Alpine Jacket received a Polartec Apex Award.[9]

Partnerships and collaborations

In 2023, ThruDark became an official clothing partner of the Invictus Games Foundation.[10]

In 2024, the company announced a partnership with Triumph Motorcycles for teamwear used in racing activities.[11]

Later in 2024, ThruDark released a collaboration with headwear company New Era.[12]

Mission: Everest

In 2025, Anthony Stazicker joined an expedition known as "Mission: Everest", which aimed to climb Mount Everest and return to London within seven days.[13]

The expedition received coverage from several media outlets including The Washington Post, Evening Standard, and Men's Health.[14][15]
