The Libertines were an indie rock band from London, England. They were formed in 1997 and broke up in 2004. The Libertines released two albums. Their second album The Libertines went straight to number one in the UK. It is in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The first single from the album, "Can't Stand Me Now", reached number two in the UK Singles Chart.
