The player character is known as the Dragonborn in game, a mortal with a dragon's soul and blood.
Skyrim's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, A dragon which is said to destroy Tamriel. Tamriel is a ficitional continent in which Skyrim is region. The game takes place two hundred years after The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion takes place. In ‘’Skyrim’’ the user can travel anywhere in the game world due to it being open world.
The game was created using the Creation Engine, which was rebuilt for Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released to critical acclaim. The game sold over 20 million copies across all three platforms.
Gameplay
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playing game, it uses first-person and third-person perspectives. The player can freely travel around Skyrim, as it is an open-world game. Skyrim has wilderness, dungeons, cities, towns, fortresses, villages,and bandit bases.[1] Players can travel the world using horses or by fast traveling which allows the player to travel to any discovered place.[2] The game’s main quest can be completed or ignored, up to the players choice. Some quests rely on the main story's progression.
