Thalassocracy
A thalassocracy, sometimes called a maritime empire, is a type of state that is based around sea-based lands. It is also based on naval power. In contrast to land-based empires, they usually have not that much control in inland regions.[1] They tend to focus on their strength in the ocean. Historically, thalassocracies are good at making control with powerful navies. This allows them to make trade routes secured. This also leads them to increase their influence and to extend their military across seas and islands that are far away.
