Taylor Kitsch (born April 8, 1981) is a Canadian actor and model.
He is known for his roles as Tim Riggins in the television series, Friday Night Lights, Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Lieutenant Alex Hopper in Battleship, John Carter in John Carter, Chon in Savages, Dr. Lewis in The Grand Seduction, Michael Murphy in Lone Survivor, and Bruce Niles in The Normal Heart.
He was born in Kelowna, British Columbia. His mother was a member of the BC liquor board, and his father worked in construction.[1] Before becoming an actor, Kitsch played junior ice hockey for the Langley Hornets in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), before his ice hockey career was ended because of a knee injury.[2]
