The spurred tree frog, saddled tree frog, Gunther's whipping frog, or the montane hourglass tree frog (Taruga eques) is a frog. It lives in Sri Lanka. People have seen it between 1202 and 2135 m above sea level.[1][2][3][4]

Home

This frog lives on the ground and in trees. People see the adult frogs on tree trunks and high in the trees where the branches come together like a roof, and on grass near ponds. People have seen this frog between 1000 and 2300 meters above sea level. People do not see this frog in places that people have changed.[3]

Young

The tadpoles swim in ponds with grass around them.[3]

Danger

Scientists say this frog is in danger of dying out.[3]

Some of the places this frog lives are protected parks: Horton Plains National Park, Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve, Knuckles Forest Reserve, and Peak Wilderness Sanctuary.[3]
