Thomas James Brodie (born June 7, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Career
Before playing in the NHL, Brodie played parts of 4 seasons with the Saginaw Spirit and one year with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
He was drafted 114th overall overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. On October 7, 2010, Brodie made his NHL debut in a 4-0 loss against the Edmonton Oilers.[1] On October 11, he scored his first NHL goal in a 5-2 win against the Minnesota Wild.[2] He split his time playing for the Flames and their AHL-affiliate Abbotsford Heat. On July 31 2013, the Flames re-signed Brodie to a two-year, $4.25 million extension.[3] On October 20, 2014, Brodie signed a five-year, $23.25 million extension to stay with the Flames.[4]
On October 9, 2020, Brodie signed a four-year, $20 million contract to join the Toronto Maple Leafs.[5] He played four seasons with the Leafs.
On July 1, 2024, Brodie signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract to join the Chicago Blackhawks.[6]
