"Stepped on My J'z" is a 2008 Hip hop/Crunk song by American rapper Nelly. The song features singer Ciara and rapper Jermaine Dupri. It is the second single from Nelly's fifth studio album Brass Knuckles. The song was released on June 11, 2008 as a digital download and on July 1, 2008 on the U.S. radio. A music video was released before.
The song reached #69 on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and #90 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.[1] It was performed at the 2008 BET Awards by Nelly, Ciara and Jermaine.[2]
The music video was directed by Benny Boom. It appeared on BET's show Access Granted. In the video, three kids skip school to go buy new pairs of Air Jordans. Nelly raps while sitting on a car. Nelly is then talking with his friends when a man steps over his Jordans. Nelly confronts the man. This is a reference to a scene in the 1989 Spike Lee movie Do the Right Thing. Later there is another reference with Nelly and Jermaine Dupri recreating a famous commercial with Spike Lee and Michael Jordan. Ciara is seen dancing later on in the video.[3]
