Shinsuke Sato (佐藤 信介, Satō Shinsuke; born September 16, 1970) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter known for directing live-action adaptations of popular manga and anime.

He has directed and sometimes written the screenplays for many action and fantasy films, including: The Princess Blade (2001), Gantz (2011),[1] I Am a Hero (2016),[2] Death Note: Light Up the New World (2016),[3] Alice in Borderland (2020–present).[4]

He is also set to direct the upcoming American live-action film adaptation of the manga My Hero Academia.[5][6] In addition to film and television, Sato has worked in video games, contributing to the character and scenario design for Tekken 4 (2002).[6]
