Scott Laughton (born May 30, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Laughton played four seasons with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He had a successful time with the Generals. He was named to the OHL First All-Star Team.[1]

He was drafted 20th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2012 NHL entry draft. On August 8, 2012, Laughton signed a three-year, $2.4 million entry-level contract to join the Hurricanes.[2]

On January 19, 2013, Laughton made his NHL debut in a 3–1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins.[3] On December 2, 2014, he recorded his first NHL point after assisting on a Sean Couturier in a 2–1 loss against the San Jose Sharks.[4] On December 13, 2014, Laughton scored his first NHL goal against Anton Khudobin in a 5–1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.[5] On July 11, 2017, Laughton signed a two-year, $1.925 million contract to stay with the Flyers.[6] On July 12, 2019, Laughton signed a two-year, $4.6 million contract to stay with the Flyers.[7] On April 12, 2021, Laughton signed a five-year, $15 million contract extension to stay with the Flyers.[8]

On March 7, 2025, the Flyers traded Laughton along with a 2025 fourth-round draft pick, and a 2027 sixth-round draft pick to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Nikita Grebenkin and a 2027 conditional first-round draft pick.[9] He played parts of two seasons with the Leafs.

On March 7, 2025, the Leafs traded Laughton to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2026 conditional third-round draft pick.[10]
