San Rosendo (Saint Rosendo) is a Chilean city or commune in Bío Bío Province, Bío Bío Region. The other side of the river bank from San Rosendo is La Laja.
History
The fort of San Rosendo was built in 1593 by Martín García Óñez de Loyola near Central Chile, and destroyed in 1655 by the Mapuche.
It was later rebuilt in 1723 but the fort did not survive the rising. It was later in 1826, the town of San Rosendo was established, and then the city of San Rosendo in 1867.
