Sambo (Russian: са́мбо, pronounced [ˈsambə]) is a martial art which started in the Soviet Union in the 1920s. It is a sort of amateur wrestling included by United World Wrestling in the World Wrestling Championships. There are many different styles. It is quite like Judo. Many armies use it.^[1]
