There is a large park with monumental statues in a valley near Bomarzo, Italy. Pier Francesco Orsini created it in the 16th century. The Orsini family had a lot of influence at the time. Pier Francesco Orsini was a local nobleman who lived in a castle nearby. He was a patron of the arts.

Bomarzo is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Viterbo, and about 70 kilometres (43 mi) frorm Rome. It is in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio, Italy.

This garden is known as Sacro Bosco ("sacred grove") today. Other names include Parco dei Mostri ("Park of the monsters") and Garden of Bomarzo. It is done in a mannerist style.

The garden was created during the 16th century. The design is attributed to Pirro Ligorio, and the sculptures to Simone Moschino. The park is in a wooded valley bottom near the castle of Orsini. It features grotesque sculptures and small buildings located among the natural vegetation.

There are many big statues of mythical creatures. Orsini devoted it to his wife wife Giulia Farnese. He had it constructed in her honor, to cope with the grief of her death.

During the 19th century the garden was neglected and forgotten. Plants overgrew it. The Spanish painter Salvador Dalí made a short movie abour the park. He also based one of his paintings on what he had seen in the park. In the 1950s, the Bettini familiy started to restore the garden, which lasted through the 1970s. Today, the garden is a tourist attraction.
