Ruth Engelhard (née Ruth Becker, 3 January 1909 – 22 October 1975) was a German track and field athlete specialized in the 80 metres hurdles event.[1] She set two times a world record and eight times the German national record. She became several times national champion.[2]
Engelhard won the gold medal at the 1934 Women's World Games in the 80 metres hurdles event setting a new world record in the final of 11.6 seconds.[3][4]
Personal life
She married to Hermann Engelhard on 12 May 1932 in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. She had two sons Frank (1936-2015) and Bernd (born 1940).[1]
