Roberto Daniele Peccei (Italian: [petˈtʃɛi]; January 6, 1942[1] – June 1, 2020) was an Italian theoretical particle physicist. Her works in the area of electroweak and in the interface between particle physics and physical cosmology. He was most known for formulating the Peccei–Quinn theory (with Helen Quinn).[2][3]
Peccei was a Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of California, Los Angeles, a position he held between 2000 and 2010.
Peccei died on June 1, 2020 at the age of 78.[4][5]
