It was founded in 2009. by R.J Scaringe which is also the current CEO and It produces an electric sport utility vehicle (SUV), the R1S a pickup truck the R1T on a "skateboard" platform that can support future vehicles or be adopted by other companies, and an electric delivery van, the Rivian EDV. It is based in Irvine, California.
