Ratatat is an American electronic rock duo. The people in the band are guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast. The two met as college students in Skidmore, started working together in 2001 under the name Cherry. In 2004, they published their first album, Ratatat. This album has songs such as "Seventeen Years", "Germany to Germany", and "Desert Eagle". In 2006, the duo released Classics, and in 2008 they released LP3. The band is known for their unique use of electronica style music with a focus on guitar.
Other works made by Ratatat are singles, as well as remixes of other musicians. Their most recent remix album Ratatat Remixes No. 2 featured 14 remixes featuring: Young Buck, T.I, Ludacris, The Notorious B.I.G, Jay Z, Z-Ro, Devin the Dude, Juvenile, Beanie Sigel, Despot, Memphis Bleek, Slim Thug, Bun B, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, Beans, Saigon, and U.G.K.
Their songs have been in various media. Some examples are "Seventeen Years" in the 2008 movie Cloverfield, "Loud Pipes" in the PlayStation game MLB 07: The Show, "Dura" in the show CSI, and "Montanita" in the show Chuck.
