Ramsey Lewis

Ramsey Emmanuel Lewis Jr. (May 27, 1935 – September 12, 2022) was an American jazz composer, pianist and radio personality. Lewis recorded over 80 albums. During his career, he won three Grammy Awards. Lewis was born in Near North Side, Chicago, Illinois. His best known album was The In Crowd, which won him a Grammy in 1965. He hosted a morning radio show on WCHI-FM until 2009.[1]

Lewis died on September 12, 2022 at his home in Chicago from cardiac arrest at the age of 87.[2]
