Pius Suter (born 24 May 1996) is a Swiss professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks. Outside of the NHL, Suter played for Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Suter played two seasons with the Guelph Storm of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and parts of six seasons with the ZSC Lions of the National League. He was successful with his teams. He helped the Storm during the playoffs. They defeated the Plymouth Whalers, London Knights, and Erie Otters before defeating and sweeping the North Bay Battalion four games to one to win the J. Ross Robertson Cup. This earned them a spot in the Memorial Cup tournament. The Storm made it to the Finals where they lost 6–3 to the Edmonton Oil Kings.[1]

He was not drafted by an NHL team. On 16 July 2020, Suter signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL).[2]

On 20 November 2021, Suter made his NHL debut in a 5–1 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning.[3] On 17 January, he recorded his first NHL point after assisting on a Connor Murphy goal in a 5–2 loss against the Florida Panthers. On 24 January, Suter scored his first NHL goal against Jonathan Bernier before scoring two more and also recording his first NHL hat-trick in a 6–2 win against the Detroit Red Wings.[4]

On 28 July 2021, Suter signed a two-year contract to join the Detroit Red Wings.[5] He played parts of two seasons with the Wings.

On 11 August 2023, Suter signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract to join the Vancouver Canucks.[6] He played two seasons with the Canucks.

On 2 July 2025, Suter signed a two-year, $8.25 million contract to join the St. Louis Blues.[7]
