Philippe Daverio (17 October 1949 – 2 September 2020) was a French-born Italian art critic, teacher, writer, politician, and television personality.[1] He was the official cultural officer of Milan during the 1990s.[2][3] He was born in Mulhouse, France.
Daverio organized many exhibitions, including Andy Warhol's Last Supper at Galleria del Credito Valtellinese in Milan. He also edited a book on Giorgio De Chirico's work between 1924 and 1929.
From 2002 to 2012 he hosted Passepartout, a series on art and culture on Rai 3.
In 2009, he became a city councilor of Milan.
Daverio died on 2 September 2020 in Milan from brain cancer, aged 70.[4]
