"Peace for our time" is a statement declared by former United Kingdom Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain during his 1938 speech about the Munich Agreement with Nazi German dictator Adolf Hitler and later the Anglo-German Declaration on the annexation of Czechoslovakia. Occurring during the extreme intense situation at the time, echoing Benjamin Disraeli's original phrase. The statement became ironic since less than a year later Germany invaded Poland, starting World War II.[1]
