Paul Robert Soles (August 11, 1930 – May 26, 2021) was a Canadian voice actor and television personality. He acted in stage plays, movies, television, and voice acting. He was best known for his role in voicing the superhero Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the 1967 animated series of the same name.[1] He also voiced the character Hermey the Elf in the 1964 animated television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Aside from voice acting, Soles was also a stage actor and hosted a late-night talk show on CBC Television titled Canada After Dark. In 2006, Soles won a Gemini Award for his role as Saul in the miniseries Terminal City.[2] In 2017, he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Digital Production for his role as Joe in the 2016 series My 90-Year-Old Roommate.[3]

On May 26, 2021, Soles died from natural causes at his Toronto home.[4]
