Battle

Upon receiving a letter from his father Beyazıd II, Yavuz Sultan Selim launched a series of military operations to learn the situation in the region and captured the castles of İspir, Kemah, Bayburd and Kovans and secured the area up to Erzurum. Ferruşad Bey and Mansur Bey, former Akkoyunlu beys of the region, took refuge with Selim and became his subjects. Ferruşad Bey told Selim about the events and massacres in the region.
