Nova (real name Richard Rider), is a fictional character and superhero in the Marvel Comics universe, appearing as the main protagonist of the Nova comics. He was created by Marv Wolfman, and the late John Buscema, and first appeared in The Man Called Nova #1 in September of 1976.

He is a member of the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force who protects the universe from threats.
