Nicholas Allan Mangold[1] (January 13, 1984 – October 25, 2025) was an American professional football center. He spent his entire 11-season career with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) from 2006 to 2016. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. During his career, Mangold was thought to be one of the NFL's best active centers.[2][3]
On October 14, 2025, Mangold announced that he needed a kidney because he had kidney disease since 2006.[4] He died from problems caused by the disease on October 25, at the age of 41.[5]
