The Neue Kirche (English: New Church; colloquially German: Deutscher Dom, meaning "German Cathedral"), is in Berlin. It is on the Gendarmenmarkt across from the French Church. The Lutheran and Calvinist congregants used German as their native language. This is different than the French-speaking Calvinist congregation who owned the French Church on the opposite side of Gendarmenmarkt. The congregants' native language combined with the domed tower gave the church its colloquial naming.
