Nanguneri is a panchayat town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Nanguneri is in Tirunelveli district, about 18 miles (29 km) from the headquarters of the district. The place became important for its famous Vaishnavite temple, which is commonly known as Totadri Mutt.
Nanguneri has an average elevation of 141 metres (462 feet). As of the census of India, Nanguneri had a population of 6,764. About 49% of the population were men, and 51% were women. Nanguneri has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. About 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
