McPherson ( /məkˈfɜːrsən/) is a city in and the county seat of McPherson County, Kansas, United States.^[1] As of the 2020 census, the city population was 14,082.^[2] The city is named after Union General James Birdseye McPherson, a Civil War general.^[3]
