Kylie (also spelled Kilee, Kileigh, Kiley, Kilee, Kylee, Kyleigh, or Kyly[1]) is a feminine given name.
The name became popular from 1960s to the 1970s. In 1970, it was the fifth most popular girl's name in Australia.[2] The Australian author Kylie Tennant is thought to make the name popular. She was born Kathleen Tennant, but was called Kylie in childhood.[3] According to the Australian Dictionary of Biography, the publication of her third novel in 1941 "made her a household name and brought her international acclaim".[4]
