Kuwana (桑名市, Kuwana-shi) is a Japanese city in Mie Prefecture on the island of Honshū.

In the Edo period, Kuwana-juku was 42nd of the 53 shogunate-maintained waystations (shuku-eki) along the Tōkaidō road which connected Edo and Kyoto.^[1]
