King Kong, also referred to simply as Kong, is a giant gorilla monster movie character, resembling a huge gorilla. The character first appeared in the 1933 film King Kong and the novel by Delos W. Lovelace. Kong has been dubbed the King of the Beasts, and over time, it would also be bestowed the title of the Eighth Wonder of the World, a widely recognized expression within the franchise. The movie is a classic adventure-fantasy horror monster movie franchise.[1] The film was remade in 1976 and once again in 2005. The character has become one of the world's most famous movie icons.[2] Kong has inspired countless spin-offs, comic books, team ups with other monsters and more.[3] There was even a stage play.[4] His role in the different movies varies, ranging from a rampaging monster to a vegetarian or anti-hero monster who only wants to be left alone.[5] Other animated films include, The Mighty Kong, Kong: King of Atlantis and Kong: Return to the Jungle. Television series include, The King Kong Show, Kong: The Animated Series, Kong: King of the Apes, Skull Island: The Series.
