Kent Ronald Hance (born November 14, 1942) is an American politician and lawyer.[1] He was the Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System from 2006 to 2014. He was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from West Texas from 1979 to 1985. He later switched to the Republican Party and in both 1986 and 1990 ran for governor of Texas, losing in the primary election.
