Katsuo Kanda (神田 勝夫, Kanda Katsuo, born June 21, 1966) is a former Japanese football player. He played for the Japan national team.
Biography
Kanda was born in Niigata on June 21, 1966. After graduating from Tokyo University of Agriculture, he joined Japan Soccer League club NKK in 1989 and played as forward. In 1992, Japan Soccer League was folded and the club joined new league, Japan Football League (JFL). However the club was disbanded in 1993. In 1994, he moved to JFL club Cerezo Osaka. He was converted to left side midfielder and side back. The club won the champions in 1994 and was promoted to J1 League. In 1998, he moved to Yokohama Marinos (later Yokohama F. Marinos). In 2000, he moved to his local club Albirex Niigata in J2 League. The club won the champions in 2003 and was promoted to J1 from 2004. However he retired end of the 2003 season.
In 1995, Kanda was called up by Shu Kamo to play for the Japan national team in a friendly match against Ecuador on May 28, which was his only cap.
