Kantemirovskaya
Kantemirovskaya (Russian: Кантемировская) is a station on the Moscow Metro. It is on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line (the Green Line). The station opened on December 30, 1984. It is named after the Kantemirovskaya Tank Division. This was one of the most famous military units of the Soviet Army during World War II.
The station has a single-vault design. This means the walls and the ceiling form one big arch, making the station feel very large. The walls are covered with yellow and brown marble. The station has metal decorations made by the artist A. P. Kibalnikov.[1] These decorations show military themes and honor Soviet tank soldiers.
The station is very important for people living in the Tsaritsyno district. Like nearby stations, Kantemirovskaya was closed from November 2022 to May 2023. This was done to rebuild the tunnel under the Tsaritsyno muddy area. Today, the station is open again and is safe for millions of passengers.
