Jean Asselborn (lb; born 27 April 1949) is a Luxembourgish former politician. He was the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2004 until 2023. He also was the Deputy Prime Minister from 2004 to 2013, under Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker.[1] He retired from politics in 2024.[2] During his time in office, Asselborn was the most popular politician in Luxembourg, with a popularity rate of around 80%.[3]
