Jacqueline "Jackie" Joyner-Kersee (born March 3, 1962) is a retired American athlete. She is one of the greatest athletes in the women's heptathlon as well as in the women's long jump. Joyner-Kersee represented the United States at four Olympic games (1984-96).[1] She won a total of three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals.[1] Joyner-Kersee was voted "the greatest female athlete of the 20th century" by Sports Illustrated magazine.[2]
