John-Jason Peterka (born 14 January 2002) is a German professional ice hockey winger. He currently plays for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for Buffalo Sabres and Utah Mammoth. Outside of the NHL, Peterka has played for EHC Red Bull München and EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Peterka played two seasons with EHC Red Bull München and one season with EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

He was drafted 34th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2020 NHL entry draft.[1] On 12 June 2021, Peterka signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Sabres.[2] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Rochester Americans.

On 29 December 2021, the Sabres called him up and Peterka made his NHL debut in a 4–3 loss against the New Jersey Devils.[3] On 13 October 2022, Peterka scored his first NHL goal against Anton Forsberg in a 4–1 win against the Ottawa Senators.[4] On 28 January 2025, Peterka recorded his first NHL hat-trick in a 7–2 win against the Boston Bruins.[5]

On 26 June 2025, the Sabres traded Peterka to the Utah Mammoth in exchange for Josh Doan and Michael Kesselring.[6] The same day, Peterka signed a five-year, $38.5 million contract to stay with the Mammoth.[7] He scored 25 goals and recorded 22 assists for 47 points in 82 regular season games with the Mammoth.

On 26 June 2026, the Mammoth traded Peterka to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2026 first-round draft pick and a 2028 conditional first-round draft pick.[8]
