Ibrahim Traoré (born 14 March 1988) is a Burkinabé politician and soldier who is the 5th and current President of Burkina Faso since 6 October 2022. He removed his predecessor, Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba from power following the September 2022 Burkina Faso coup d'état.[3] At age 36, Traoré is currently the youngest serving state leader[broken anchor] in the world, and the youngest serving president.[4]
