The Harvey River is a river in Western Australia. It is the southernmost of three big rivers that flow into the Peel-Harvey Estuary. The river ends in the southern part of the Harvey Estuary. It is about 90 km (56 mi) long and starts near Mount Keats. In 1934, the river was changed to flow directly into the ocean because it was causing flooding on grazing land.

The first time people recorded seeing the river was in November 1829. Dr. Alexander Collie and Lieutenant William Preston found it during an expedition. The river was probably named by Governor James Stirling after Rear Admiral Sir John Harvey. In 1818, Sir John Harvey was the Commander in Chief of the West Indies Station, where Stirling had worked.
